Keep in mind, the George's II guy posts here and has assured us that things are changing there, and will be more fair. Does anyone know how they've been doing lately?

Avoid at all costs:
Shortie's Pub (Oakdale, CT)
I scheduled a show with the owner via email. When I showed up, he had another band setting up. I asked him what the deal was, and he said something to the effect of, "Oh, I emailed you and said I was canceling." Complete lie. He didn't email. He didn't offer to pay me the money we agreed on, nothing. I came quite a distance to play the show here. I tour regularly, so it wouldn't normally be a big deal. But I left 4 days early to play this show, accumulating the extra cost of travel, hotels, etc. to play here. I didn't want to get in a brawl with him and all of his buddies in the bar, so I didn't push the issue too far. I waited until I got home and emailed him to point out our email communication and request that he do the right thing and pay me for the show. As expected, he made some lame joke and said he's never going to pay me. If that's not bad enough, he uses the email moniker "the man in black" and dresses in all black. He thinks he's Johnny Cash. This guy is a sociopath, doesn't give two poops what he does to anyone else. Steer clear of here.
