i'm running a splawn quick rod (modded marshall) but i started noticing recently that when i play a slow lead that there's a crackle every so often inbetween the notes...
i tried rearranging the tubes and that didn't help any...i tried different speaker cables and it still does it...even ran another amp through the same setup and the other amp didn't do it...so i think it's the amp...
do i need new tubes?
any help would be appreciated...

Yeah, sounds like the tubes are getting old. Maybe someone else can come along and give a better solution.

First I'd like to say hi , new member!
the problem could also be dirt or corrosion in one of the tube sockets, if your comfortable working on your amp you could clean them out.. also a possibility could be a component failing or intermittent short somewhere but I would suspect the tube or socket first. what year/model is the amp?
