So, this place has changed names. Is anyone 100% sure what the new name is? I keep hearing Sports City and City Sports Bar. Which is it?  |

lol yeah we're playing there too, at the end of October. So I figured we should get it correct too. Funny thing is, we already had it correct on our website, but our esteemed web designer is known for typos (sorry Keith we still love ya ;D) so when you brought it up, I had to question it myself!

City Sports Grill - as mentioned. We played there a couple of weeks ago. One thing to get straight with the bar: sound.
We called earlier in the week and they told us they weren't sure if the house system would be running by the time we (Branded Soul) played. We carted our PA down and set it up. Just before we went on some dude showed up and raised holy hell because he drove from West Hartford to make sure everything went smoothly with house sound. You may want to give the bar a ring to see what is going on with it.

Clarification on my last post - the house does not have a sound system that can handle a band's needs. The system they have is for the DJs. Also...the guy that showed up to check out the sound wasn't a sound man, he was the guy who installed the equipment and he just wanted to make sure everything was working.
Our booking agent has been getting calls on this and just wanted me to clear it up.
Plan on bringing a PA and your own sound guy to City Sports.

This place changed names and isn't even close to what it used to be. Not even sure if they still have bands there, it is some type of family restaurant now I think. The new owner is a real piece of work....

They do have bands there. I've played there a few times since my post. It is a lot different. I kind of wish there was less seating, though. It makes people more likely to sit and watch you rather than to dance and get into it. It is nicer, though, don't get me wrong. They definitely cleaned that place up.
Have you had trouble with the owner? The woman that runs the place seems nice to me, I don't know if she's the owner too.
