As most know, the summer is usually the dead time for bands and clubs. Save for a few bars, the summer means no college crowd, nice days and longer sunlight for people to do other things than go out to see a band. In light of this, I'm curious how everyone is doing and if the summer is treating you good.

We were straight out with gigs. Moreso than in the fall or spring. Too bad that it's all coming to an end in September, it's been a great ride.

That's cool. We're not playing much this summer, but that's by our own decision.

Like you said.. The venues are defiantly alot slower.. especailly the Brickyard and All-Stars.. but we do what we can.. I have been suprised alot this summer. I figured the outdoor Venues would be packed..Other then when we played at Riverfest.. 125 has been pretty slow too.. Hopefully Students coming back at the end of August will get the crowds going ...

Yeah, I aws at Brickyard to see The Sellouts a week or so ago, and not only was Brickyard dead, all of the downtown area was dead. I'm sure it'll pick up when school starts again.

StraddleDaddy has had a kick ass summer so far! Not enough votes for the Band Slam but the gig's have been great. The bars in Middletown have been crazy. We have two more shows and then were taking a break to finish up the new CD, let our guitar player get married and break in our soon to be new bass player. We'll be back in action in the fall. Let me know if anyone is looking to trade some fall shows. You all rock! www.myspace.com/straddledaddy

It has been a good summer for Branded Soul. Due to my work schedule (nights at ESPN...I can only get two weekend nights off per month) we are limited. We usually do two shows per month. This summer, however, we've done five already and are in the middle of five more in six weeks.
Good times.
As for crowds...I agree that the summer slows everything down. Our shows in Middletown have been a little disappointing because the student turnout isn't there.
At any rate...hoping to build on this full schedule for the fall. We should be nice 'n tight [ha. i said tight] for the fall.
