Well, I had a chance for once to get out and check out the Springfield / Worthington Street Thursday night scene last night.
I only had a couple of hours so I didn't get to check out a couple of the bands that I wanted to. One band that I did catch was Pride Falls on the outdoor stage at the Fat Cat. I have to say that I was impressed. For those of you that are saying "who the hell is Pride Falls" they are a 5 piece band with acoustic and electric guitar and a mix of bongos and drums. They play a mix of covers and original music that I would say is more Jam Band oriented somewhat like OAR but with their own original flavor. All in all, a good mix of music, nothing too heavy; just chill tight grooves.
Worthington Street has definately had it's ups and downs but if you want to check out some live music on a Thursday night during the summer it's a great place to check out. The start up the outdoor main stage every Thursday at 6 PM and other bands start between 8 and 10 pm at almost every bar in the vicinity; The Fat Cat, The Pour House, R-Bar, and The Salty Dog Saloon to name a few. Every bar has a healthy crowd after 9:00 when they stop the main stage activities.
Also it's bike night every Thursday and there were definately some hot bikes there. A couple of the OCC bikes could be found as well as some custom creations. It's a whole city block with bikes lining each side of the street, no cars.
