Myself and a guitarist are looking to hit an open mic to try out some new material and scout for some other players for our project. What are the best open mics in the area?

I'm in Eastern CT and the guitarist is in the Windsor/East Windsor area. So anywhere in North Central CT I guess.

Downtown Cafe in Bristol has a pretty good one on Wednesday nights from what I hear.

Hey Dude,
Depending on where you guys are going with your music, the Hungry Tiger in Manchester is a cool place to be on a Monday night. They do an open mic blues deal that features a different host each week. The host is always someone of notariety on the Connecticut blues scene. The drummer and bassist are always there and they're AWESOME !!! They'll most likely cover your rythm section needs so you can strut your stuff. Good luck in your endeavors.
