Hi all! My band, Era Nocturna, is seeking a new bassist and someone else to take over on keyboards. We're a dark rock/electro female-fronted band based out of the Northampton area. We've been around for 12 years (it was me doing everything until 9 months ago), we're gigging on a monthly basis at this point, and we're beginning the process of recording our 5th album.
Our previous bassist was let go due to interpersonal issues with another member so we're trying to move fast and get someone in her place. We have 2 gigs next weekend and a show coming up in NYC in October. MORE WILL FOLLOW!
What we are (and are not) looking for:
- 18 to 40 years old. gender doesn't matter but we have 2 guys and myself (female) right now.
- have their own gear and transportation (or someone willing to cart you around)
- able to practice every friday between 6 and 11 pm.
- drug free is ideal. we don't care if you drink but don't ever show up to rehearsals or a gig drunk. partying is for AFTER!
- we are a "goth" band so we're all pretty "dark" looking as in we wear black, do the eyeliner thing, and there are some mild theatrical elements to our show. we'd expect you to join in but it doesn't have to be an everyday lifestyle thing for you.
- no egos please. this band is a family first and foremost and we won't tolerate backstabbing.
Our audition process is as follows:
1. You come hang with us to see if you like us and if we like you.
2. You come jam at a rehearsal.
3. You do a gig with us. If it works out, you're kind of like an associate member until you've proved you're dedicated.
To hear what we do visit reverbnation.com/eranocturna Please bear in mind that what you will hear is ALL electronic but the sound is very different live.
Contact me (Dae) at eranocturna2@gmail.com with a little intro about yourself and why you feel you'd be a good fit for us. If you like, please include a photo and a link to any of your previous work so we can get a sense of what you're into. Also, naming some influences might help. We're all influenced by a wide range of artists so it doesn't matter if you list all goth bands or you're like our drummer who listens to Coltrane and then has Cradle of Filth come up as the next song on his playlist.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
