Dean Avalanche Ultra 7 with a Floyd Rose Tremolo « Result #3 on Dec 19, 2009, 7:47pm »
OK I am selling my Dean 7 string because I need to make cash fast. This comes with a gig bag and strap locks and does have some small nicks. I put new strings on it but didn't know how to string the Floyd so it needs to be set up again but is in great shape. I only used it as my back up guitar in a gothic rock band. I didn't get the original tremelo bar but have 1 that fits and works. This is a kick ass metal axe and has a lot of nice features. I paid $500 and am asking $400 but might be willing to talk. It is black and the image is not it as it is in my storage unit in Leominster MA. I am sure it might need a little love to bring it back to full glory but I treated it very well and used it very little. Please email me for more info and we can go from there. You will need to pick it up as I do not have a car.
Listed Specs
Basswood body, grainy rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets and abalone inlays
Mammoth nut width of 1 7/8"
Grover tuning machines
24 frets and super-low action
Through-the-body string ferrules, which increase resonance and add a decorative-yet-functional appeal to the Avalanche 7
Three-way pickup selector, master tone and volume
A pair of humbuckers bolted right into the basswood body for increased resonance
Thank You All

The Groove Junkies seek Male lead singer « Result #4 on Dec 8, 2009, 3:29pm »
Our current male lead singer has decided to throw in the towel and enjoy other things in life besides being in a band. We wish him the best.
So we are seeking a MALE lead singer / frontman to fill his shoes and compliment our other female lead singer. You MUST:
1) Be able to sing and sing WELL. 2) Be able to harmonize. 3) Possess great stage presence. 4) Maintain a professional attitude. 5) Be able to entertain (jump around, be the focus of attention, show a LOT of energy) 6) Be willing to travel occasionally. 7) Be willing to perform 6-8 shows per month. 8) Leave your ego at the door. 9) Have a job other than lead singer of our band. 10) Have reliable transportation (ie.Own a working car and have a valid driver's license) 11) Have a good sense of humor (we all dish it out and we all can take it). 12) Have FUN!
Additionally, but not mandatory (as if that wasn't enough):
1) The ability to play an instrument (guitar and/or keyboards) would be ideal. 2) A kazoo, a mouth harp and a tambourine do NOT count as instruments! ;-) 3) Age range ideally in 20's - 30's.
This is a serious position in one of the top cover bands in CT. It doesn't get much better than this! So we will be VERY selective in who we choose. If you are chosen for an audition, please come to impress. There will be no second chances.
For serious inquiries only. No shower singers, please. Remember, you will be getting paid very well to entertain hundreds of people at a time.
If you think you have what it takes, please don't hesitate to contact us at: bandauditionct@gmail.com If you have any pictures, a personal portfolio, audio files of you or your past bands, etc., please send them to the aforementioned email address.

Toad the Wet Sprocket meets Nickel Creek & others « Result #10 on Nov 4, 2009, 11:35am »
Glen Philips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek) and Luke Bulla (Lyle Lovett, Jerry Douglas Band) have put together an "expandable collaboration" band called Works Progress Administration and are currently touring the US. Phillips, Watkins and Bulla make up the core of the Americana/Folk/Little Bit of Everything group but Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Benmont Trench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Pete Thomas (Elvis Castello), just to name a few, also appear from time to time with WPA.
The group's sound is really one that needs to be heard since it's near impossible to accurately describe in words. Check out some of the live videos to get a feel for what WPA is all about.
WPA will be playing in Fairfield, CT on Nov. 12 and in Northampton, MA on Nov. 15. Check out www.wpamusic.com for more informtion.
